COOLING LIGHT WONT TURN OFF..............
I just bought a 1987 fc3s and i am haveing problems with the ADD COOLENT warning light. Just resently i drained all of the old liquid and added some new one , but still it lights on moestly when i turn it on. Ones its been runing for about 10-15 minutes the light goes off,\
ANNY SUGESTIONS ARE MORE THAN WELLSOME SINCE THIS IS MY FIRS ROTARY INGEN THAT I HAVE WORKED ON.

on top of the radiator there is a level sensor. Check to see if its connected to a cable. IF its not, then what you can do is grab the 1 wire cable and ground it.

You may also want to purge your coolant system. Also, do you use the air bleeding plug when you add to fill coolant?

Thanks for the sugestions guys but i have tryed both of them and my FC is still running hot but this time the gauge shots all the way up.This happend after i push started the car because it did not want top start.

How did you purge the system? To me it still sounds like air pocket in the cooling system.

ok well, in this case. while your car is cool, remove the rad cap, and start the car... If water pours out the neck or unordinary ammount of bubbles, then your coolant seal is gone, and therefore you need to rebuild the motor.

Ck your oil and see if you see coolant going into it. And sure way to see if you have blown seal is smoke coming out from your exhaust.

There is some white smoke coming out the exhaust some of the time and then it will stop when i thruow it out of gear.
