Default 1989 rx7 turbo II
Just bought this car been sitting for 8 years. guy said it overheated and put it aside for years. will not start!!! im new to these cars and engines. where should i look>? and what steps should i take to get it running? thanks

Over heated & been sitting for 8 years, bad combo. Might be a good time for a rebuild or swap. Have you checked the basics (oil, coolant, plugs, filters, fuses & connections)? Does the motor turn over? Do you have any more information on the car?

i havent went over everything with the car. not to familiar with these cars so looking for help here. it cranks but will not start. was looking to rebuild the engine looks pretty expensive. do these cars have overheating problems?
and if they do overheat what should i look for? someone said somthing about pulling a fuse but have no idea what there talking about

Pulling the fuse they were most likely talking about the de-flooding. Here you go just click the link then the right year link from there.

Rotary engines do not like to be over heated. Look for leaks, coolant in the oil, check the water pump, look at the coolant, check the fan & radiator ect.

Rebuilds can start around $1200 & go up depending on who does it & the level of build you want.

the first things to start with on any engine is fuel, air and spark, without those you have a giant paper weight...
