Power to coil but no spark

Hello everyone. Im new to this forum and sort of need help asap. I just bought an 83 rx-7 gsl. I pICked it up for cheap because the previous owner could not get it running. upon a basic inspection i found that there was plenty of fuel. but no spark! so i tested for power with the key in run to the coils.. there is power there. then i tested for a ground on the other side of the coil during crank and no luck. wht would cause this? condensor? im stumped! thanks

Are you saying that there is power running to the coils, but nothing to the plugs? Have you tried replacing the coils?
