I love the rx8... I respect anything with a wankel in it... But the rx8 needs some soul, dunno if you people know what im talking about, but I guess over time the rx8 will prove itself.. I mean it does have a slitly new design and the power out put is almost as equal as the 3rd gen's output. O and the problem with the engine spec was that they dont have emmisions in japan so thats why power output is different..

The RX-8 is underpowered. SRT4's are kicking it around the block. That's not supposed to happen. In 2004, 250hp is the bare minimum for a sport car, IMO.
And call it what you will, but the RX-8 is a 4 dr. I just can't respect that.

youre right in one sense... but when they made the rx8 their goal definately wasnt speed. Yea an srt4 is faster but guess what, its a neon.. plus they have a bunch of problems with them already, like motor mounts, and some electrical problems.. but when they come out with the MAZDASPEED Rx8 I want to see what people are gunna say.

STi's are 4 doors and they're faster stock than any RX7. But I despise STi's for a number of reasons so please find some reason to bash them aside from the 4 door family car shit.
RX-8's are in their first year of production people, give it time and Mazda will be selling Turbo'd RX-8's. They wait so people with N/A RX8's trade in their old ones for new ones and they make more money. I helped a guy supercharge his RX8 last night, he used an electric supercharger and damn, it's faster than my FC now. Others who have done this are claiming 100 HP increases from the start. AND on top of that RX8's have shitty intake, and exhaust. Once people do some work on them they'll be respectable.

I knew that from the start...all companies do that....so I figured it would get a supercharger in 05 or 06..

Most companies go with Turbocharger. Longer engine life that way with a sufficient Blowoff valve. It'll be tricky with the FE though.
