I recently bought an 87 Rx7. Great condition, only had 98K on the engine and its the original engine. Whenever i turn on the engine first thing everyday the engine revs to 3 Rpm. I think maybe its jus because its a pretty old car but I need to know if theres anything wrong with it causing it to do so. Please Inform me.
can't answer what or why it revs so high on start up, but can tell you i have an '88 with 87k miles and it does the same thing. after it idles back down, which only takes a few seconds, everything works as it should, so i haven't been that concerned about it.

all rx7s do this as far as i know its called the accelerated worm up system it helps the engine worm up faster and helps it build oil pressure when u start it cold.
