replacement seats??
anybody here replaced their seats with later model ones. i have an '88 'vert and the leather seats are in terrible shape.
i'm planning a trip to the local pick 'n pull this week and wondered what might fit the '88 RX7 'vert without major mods.
thanks, Dutch

Never heard of anyone having issues using any seat from the another FC chassis. My 88 has seat from an 86.

thanks Boosted,
Sunday i looked at a set of buckets from an S10/Sonoma pickup. they looked like they would work in the 'vert, but he had told me they were in excellent condition and that wasn't exactly true! figure if i'm going to go to the trouble of modifing a set, need to find a nice set. have found a place i can get replacement covers, but they are $400 bucks and i'm cheap!!
i'll see what's available at the pick 'n pull.
Dutch

If you are going to use seats from another vehicle you are going to have to modify the mounting brackets to make them work in your FC. There is a few guys running the FD & RX8 seats in their FC's. Another seat I see used is the Mazdaspeed3 seats. You could always find a set of used aftermarkets like Sparco on Ebay for a decent price.

For posterity...you could always do what I did. Find a local upholstery shop and have them refurbish the seats. A good shop should be able to not only re-cover the seats, but also fix and foam that is tearing, missing, etc.

Oh really! Two years after the last response, I'm sure the issue is no longer an issue. Thread revivals at their best right here. Please look at the dates when responding. If you feel the subject has not been answered or covered start a tutorial or help thread for people to use for reference.
