Default What is your highest fine you paid?
My most expensive traffic fine I paid "knock on wood" was $480.00 back in mid 80s when I got busted speeding up in Big Bear and I went over double yellow since there were no traffic...

I thought that was pretty high, then, until I read an article from Automobile Magazine 12/2010 issue that 9 Euro countries currently issuing fines propotional to the perpetrator's income! And the maximum traffic fine "now possible" in Germany is $16 million.

The highest fine in Finland to date is $190,000.00 and fine paid by a French driver caught speeding @ 151 mph was $64,500.00

Mine was mere spare change in comparison.

I read about those big fines in Europe, pretty crazy! I guess if you have money like that then it's fair game.

Back in 2001 I received by far my worst traffic fine. I was simply caught in a bad situation. Young & stupid I was racing a 87 LX with a 347 stroker on the spray. I decided it was better to try to run, boy was that a bad idea. At the end of the night I was taken to jail where I sat till Mon for court. I was sentenced to 90 days in jail, a $1000 dollars in fines & lost my license for 5 yrs. Fines were for wreckless endangerment, eluding a police officer, altered suspension, aftermarket exhaust, tint, illegal engine mods, nitrous & a few other things. They tried to get me for my tires, but they were DOT approved Mickey ET streets.

That's bad!

When I got busted speeding up in the mtn I thought of running for a moment until I heard the secondary opened up... I stopped & waited.

I don't street race anymore, some of my friends still do though. I do go to watch, help get the cars ready & find potential runs.
