Thanks for the response, Boosted. And also for the good info.

I'm wondering if the RX7 carb has any type of filter or screen where the fuel lines attach. I haven't worked on a GM carb lately, but they used to have a very small cartridge filter inside the carb where the fuel line attached to the carb. I'm wondering if the RX7 carb has anything like that.

My carb acts like there's a restriction in the fuel line. The engine starts and runs perfectly for a few seconds, then slowly cuts off, like it's starving for gas. After a few seconds it can be started again very easily, but then it shuts off after a few seconds. Maybe the floats are not dropping down enough to let more gas in. Could that be it? I wish I could see the fuel level in the bowls but I can't get to the sight glasses.

Anyway, if anybody can tell me whether there is any type of "final filter" or screen that might be stopped up and restricting the fuel flow please let me know. I really don't want to remove and rebuild the carb if there's something I can check first.

thanks!
