RX7 vs a Camero...
I was coming home from work when I pulled up to to a 2nd gen RX and I think a 2000 Camero. They were at a light and the RX got up faster then the camero..but I didn't see who really won. It was pretty cool to be behind that..

An NA rx7 would beat a v6 base camaro.
It wouldn't beat a z28 or SS though.
A stock TII rx7 will waste any base camaro, driven correctly beat the z28, and will not stand to an SS.
With the same amount of money.. say 2 grand invested into all of the cars, the TII comes out on top.
Take the overall money spent on each cars, equalize them. And the TII again blows away all.
Example: An SS can run up to around 40 large.
My TII in perfect condition was less than 2.
38 grand into my car = fast beyond words.
End of story. Tell that the next time some punk ass STi kid talks shit about your car.

I have a LT1 95' Camaro with a heavily built motor so if you guys have questions about anything on them, just let me know. Im not sure about a stock TII rx7 beating a stock Z28.
From 93-97, the V-8 stock motor produced 275hp (flywheel) and 350 pounds of torque (flywheel).
Im not knocking on RX7's because i love them to death but I cant see any rx7 stock beathing a stock93-97 camaro.
Even if the Rx7 is lighter and has close to 275hp, the camaro will still win because the TII has to wait for those turbo's to spool up. I may not know much about RX7's but i have been racing and engine building for a long time.

The series 5 TII has about 200hp actually. The "wait" for turbo spool is practically nothing, driven correctly and kept the power band the car just moves quicker and smoother from a 40 roll or a stop. I've driven and raced quite a few Z28s.
The only catch here is that I consider a TII with a new exhaust as "stock" because true stock systems are so old and clogged that you can't boost past 2-3psi. Besides that the aftermarket exhaust does nothing unless you raise the stock boost, but that wouldn't be stock anymore now would it?

basically...a stock ls1 fbody(1998-2002 camaro/trans am) will run a 12.8-13.4 BONE stock. a car with JUST bolt ons and a cam(less than 3k in work) will run anywhere from a 12.3-10.8......

The Z28 or WS6 with heads, cam, exh, & the bottle on a decent tire can run a mid to high 10. The comparison in that & a FC is completely different. Two totally different animals from different era's.
