Default 87 rotary into 1990 rx-7
Hello,

I have a 1990 rx-7 none-turbo with an automatic transmission. The engine that came with the car would overheat. i bought a used engine at a local shop. What the guy forgot to mention was that it was off an 87 model with a manual transmission. I noticed that a couple of things were different, such as the throttle body. The 87 engine does not come with a coolant temperature sensor near the radiator cap and the oil pump is mechanical instead of an electric one. The vacuum lines are also different. I transferred over the transmission and the bundle of wire with harnesses. My question is, will it be worth it putting that engine in or should I just get the right engine for that particular year?
