O-ring replacement questions
I just recently bought an 88 rx-7 with the 13b. My question is I was told that i had to replace the O-rings cause the car overheats in about ten minutes and smokes out the tail pipe. The guy I bought it from said this should fix it. My other question is what does 13b mean im new to the rotary's if anyone could help me i would appreciate.

It sounds to me like more than a replacement of o rings.
You should flush your rad and ck your t-stat. What is the color of the smoke?
As to 13B...excluding non production/experiemental engines. it started from 10A back in 1964 but, 11A is not in existance in between.

That sounds to me like coolant and oil.
Do a coolant pressure test and see if it's holding pressure. Ck your oil and see if coolant is present there.
Which means...rebuild/rebuilt is closer than you might want to.

Go to radiator shop if you don't have pressure test gauge.

FIll your rad with water to the top, turn on your car with the cap off, and see if bubbles or coolant start spilling out. By the sound of it, your seals are gone, and yes the orings will take care of it(coolant seals) but you have to take the motor apart.
A stock n/a rx7 with never touch a stock sr20det not to mention 18psi
