Default 1980 owner
I just purchased a 1980 rx7, I was told by the previous owner that the engine isn't running properly because of the ingnition control module, I do not know anything about rotary engines and I was curious to see if that sounds like a fix. The car runs, but it has little compression so there is no power.

Well common sense would say that if there is little to no compression then you may be looking at a rebuild. Did you check to see if you were getting spark to the plugs, are you getting fuel, what do you mean by not running properly, why do people continue to buy cars that have problems if they don't have the know how to fix or where to start? It sounds like a bad choice to purchase some that will need work & you can not fix it, taking the car to a good mechanic familar to car will be the idea.
