Default 84 RX-7 GSL, stalls when going around corners
Hello all! I am new here, but I have been on a RX-7 forum before. We are the 2nd owner of our 84 RX-7, bought it in 87. The car has 53,000 miles. It sat for a while, but then my wife started driving it daily. It was working fine for a couple of years, then she complained about no power and not being able to go over about 40 mph. I drove it, she was right. I replaced the exhaust system and the power came back, but the throttle was sticking once you got it up to 60 (and it would continue to climb). It quit doing that only to now to stall when going around corners or at a stop light. It starts right back and will accelerate, but dies around corners. I hope someone can give me a good idea what is going on. We are going to sell it once we get it running, we just need the money to help fix the foundation on our house.

Have you checked your fuel filter & for proper float adjustment?

I replaced the fuel filter a few years back, but since it has been sitting a while it probably would do some good to replace it again. The float adjustments I'll have to look into that. I'm hoping it is an easy fix, not something like the throttle body sensor.

Thanks.

Do you have the GSL or GSL-SE? I was thinking you had the 12A which is carb'ed not EFI.
