Since my first post, I've replaced the spark plugs and added 1 gal denatured achohol . It passed just under the max for allowable Hc's. i'm going to remove the cat converter because after 20 min....

Thanks for the reply, but I'm told this 79 does not have a cat. converter but instead a thermal reactor? I will try the ATF but my car starts right up and runs good except for a slightly hunting...
