Help 1987 RX7 turbo 2
 

Hey All,

What engines can I put into my 1987 rx7 turbo 2? Can I swap in a 1988 turbo engine? What options do I have? Any Nissan, Honda any other engine? If not does anybody know a place I can get a new 87 turbo 2 engine?

Another pretty simple answer.

1st. Yes you can swap in the 88 TII motor they are the same (87-88 = S4 8.5:1 compression) or you can do (89-91 = S5 9.0:1 compression). With more work the 13b-REW (92+) as well as the other rotary options including the 20b three rotor.

2nd. Many swaps are possible if you have the money, time, knowledge & wthe will to get it done. Most common swaps would be small block Chevy V8's. The GM aluminum LSX series is a favorite. There are Ford swaps from the 2.3 turbo to 347 stroker ect. Buick 3.8 turbo, Nissan VQ35DE, VG30DETT SR20DET & RB swaps. I have seen Mitsubishi 4G63 swaps, Toyota 2JZ-GTE swaps & even small diesels.

3rd. Look on forums in the sale sections, engine importers & Ebay are sources for a TII motor.
