i'm new here and I need some help
 

about a month ago i bought an 86 rx7 gxl for $450 but the engine need to be replaced. so i found a deal for 2 engines for $300 and we replaced the engine and got it running. i then noticed that on first gear it barely had power. so i decided to replace the dynamic chamber with an extra one i got with the car to see if the would be any difference. i noticed that i made it worse because it has a hard time staying on. so i have to give it a little extra gas so it won't die when I'm at a stop but when driving its just fine. i also noticed that the clutch is a little hard to engage even though the clutch still has some meat on it and the slave cylinder was rebuilt. the clutch does engage but it has a hard time when putting it into first or any of the gears.

Should i put back the dynamic chamber it had before?
Is first suppose to barely have power, if not what can i do to improve it?
What could it be thats making the clutch have a hard time engage?

Are you talking about TB (throttle body) or dynamic chamber? Because dynamic chamber is attach to TB and doesn't make sense.

I am a bit confused. you bought the car with the following kits?

KYB GR2 Front Struts
KYB Gas-A-Just rear shocks

Why didn't you checked the engine first before buying it first? at least you dont have to replace the whole engine. if ever, what you just need to change is some minor parts like the ignition & spark plug wires, or brakes , et all. Anyways, hope that your car is already running.

What are you confused about? He bought a car that came with those aftermarket parts. He also knew there was a problem with the motor in the car which is why the purchase price was so low. He then bought two motors for the car at $300 for the pair. What I think he did was buy S5 motors to put in his S4 & didn't know. When he's talking about dynamic chamber I again think he was trying to swap between S4 & S5 intake manifolds unsuccessfully. Remember this some people may buy a vehicle that needs a lot of work at a lower price, knowing that they will have to invest it down the road.

Okkkk, 1st gear you can easily hit 40-50 mph. As to your tranny issue is concerned, did you change the gear oil? Sounds to me like you may be running with degraded oil based on the fact that it's hard to shift unless synchro is goner.

Why don't you post a pic of TB & dynamic chambers as what boosted said makes a great deal of sense.

Have you done a compression test to see the condion of them engines. As you mentioned that 1st is slow. Even seals are blown it will run but, much slower and hard to start.
