Is anybody there? I NEED HELP!
 

My 1988 gxl is having a rough starting problem. the only way i can get it to start is by pulling the egi fuse and cranking all of the gas out through the exhaust a couple times, plug it back in, and it starts up but has really crap idle, like its really really flooded or something. doesnt matter if its cold or warmed up for an hour. REALLY NEED HELP!

and i forgot, when its driving, i have no problems at all, jst when it first starts and idles its a mess

It seems that you have leaking fuel injectors. The only way to start it up is exactly what you are doing or have on/off switch installed where the fuse is. I had the same problem and corrected it by replacing the fuel injectors. Good luck!
