Sleepy eyes
 

This is a popular mod with young people and for those that dont have the money to dish out for a kit. This mod, although it may look good during the day, affects visibility dramatically at night. This is an easy mod that anyone can do. First go to your engine bay and on the driver side strut tower there is a fuse boxe about 6 of them( I think) pull the 30amp fuse and under the car there are 2 knobs, turn them until you got the desired
sleepy affect :wink: and thats it. Easy huh?? Remember visibility is about zilch at night time. If you dont want to do this everyday then invest about $80 dollars and you could be a control unit that allows you to adjust how much you want your head lights to come up. Once you have it set everytime you turn on your headlights it will only go up until the point from which you have set.

You can also pull the fuse, turn the car on and place the fuse over it's prong and lightly tap it to make the lilghts come up evenly and minutely. Although I hate sleep eyes it's your car and your call
This doesn't increase airflow into your engine bay or anything of that sort. It simply does two things: makes your lights inoperable until the fuse is replaced. And pop your lights up a little bit.

you could do it that way to which is alot less work, but some times it gets uneven. If you are really into sleepy eyes you might as well buy the headlight height adjuster or w.e its called, they sell on ebay for like $50. That makes your headlight motors operational and also no need to pull the fuse or anything.

A lot of drifters do it in Japan on 180SX too. There is no reason other than style behind it. I did it for a lil bit. Then I got tired of it and put the fuse back in.

Sleepy eye almost reminds me of Isuzu Impulse the way it looks, and again, Impulse headlight was designed accordingly.

the lighting on the fc suck as it is, but like I posted above they do sell a height adjusting switch for it which make the motos operational...

how could it not let more air into the engine it would be just the same if you bought the air scoop headlight covers.

Well...I must disagree with you on that statement. FC headlight assembly itself is pretty air deflective; encased with upper and lower bezel along with sheild behind the headlight itself.

Sleepy eyes are personal and appearance preference...and I strongly feel that airflow factor is extremely minimal to none.

As to headlight cover air scoops are concerned, it has some positive factor for fresh air flow into the engine bay, more specifically, cold air intake.

That's just my 2 cents :)

You get more fresh air from the front dam than anywhere else. Those lil headlight covers are mainly for looks. That shit aint gunna make a difference.

You're right... that's why I stated "some positive...air flow" compared to sleepy eyes;)

Are u guys talking about how to do this on a FD or a FC? cuz i tried doing it on my FD and it wouldnt work..

I'm not into sleepy eyes...but, I think mostly for FCs

Oh.. i love them for some reason.. i guess it just makes it look different than any other rx7.. but some times it justs looks like the car has broken lights.... but im still trying to find out how to get sleepy eyes with an FD with out spending money..i just spent a bulk of my money buying an AEM.. soooo if any one know how to do it.....help

The knobs he referred to are underneath the pop-up lights, underneath the car. They usually have rubber boots over them that you have to pull off.

AEM= fuel managment.. I pulled the fuse but on the FD it turns off the actual head lamp but it pops where i want it.. if any of that makes sense to u.
