I just bought a 10AE and I got a good deal on it, and theres a few things that need to be addressed.
First off, the throttle is sticking, it wont drop down to an idle and raises while im driving.
Second, I believe its running REALLY rich, it backfires ALOT lol
Third, the car is modded quite a bit, and last night I was hitting almost 14-15psi consistantly, today, just 7.
Pretty much all these problems just started within the last 12hrs or so, I bought the car yesterday out of town and drove it home with zero problems.
Im not sure if this makes a difference, but theres a leak in the exhaust manifold gasket and it sounds like a tractor haha
If you guys could help a newbie out, id appreciate it, or at least point me in the right direction, ive booked it into a shop to get the other minor problems fixed, but thats not for 2 weeks
Thanks

First, what you should do is to replace all the fluids so you know it's fresh and protective.
ck your turbo...

IMO the turbo looks aftermarket, but that doesnt mean much lol
Im used to hondas and smaller applications haha
Ill grab a pic? maybe you can tell.
Im going to have all the fluids replaced this week, and I believe they're going to compression test it at the shop when it goes in, if its even borderline im going to rebuild this I think, im actually debating just doing it and starting fresh. Opinions?

Yeah, especially if it was modded. If it was modded...it was driven hard so, make sure you ck everything. Good that you are getting a compression test done.

It kinda looks like the stock turbo 2 turbo, but I'm also a newbie to the FC rx7. The wire that is unplugged is the oxygen sensor, and there should be a connector to plug it into someplace on that side of the engine.

The connector from O2 sensor should be attached to Port Air Solenoid Valve.
