hi im upgrading the turbo system on a gen 3 rx7, and im looking for some feed back on building a turbo kit... the turbo on it now has tons of boost, but lags longer than it boosts for. it has no intercooler, no cold air intake, and from what i was told, the twin spools where removed because this turbo had more top end....the down side was that it wasnt properly balanced with the motor and fuel system.....my goal is to generate across the board balanced 400-475 whp. the info i need is listed below, any accurate knowledge would be much respected, thanks dave

1 what is the max CFM's of the gen3 engine. looking for little lag, and a large boost range.

2. what are is the max fuel cc's through oem injectors, and will i have to upgrade the fuel pump when using larger injectors.

3. looking for the best sounding exhaust system.....

4 can a t3/t4 hi-brids turbo generate this type of boost, a cross the board for this type of engine.

i used a t3/t4 hibrid on a vr6 12valve. w/ an intercooler, with an oem fuel system and the results were beyond what i was looking for. just wondering whats out there for new technology in these turbos. back then the t3/t4 was the turbo to use.

I will start off by saying that there should be an intercooler present, as to why there isn't would be the question you should be asking.

Look here at the bottom of the thread for the stock injector sizing:

You will need to upgrade the injectors, pump & ECU

On turbo choice there are a few things to think about.
1. The bigger the turbo more power potential, but at the expense of spool up time.
2. The smaller the turbo the better the spool, but at the expense of power production.
A GT35R or variant will be enough to get you those number & more if needed.
T3/T4' can make power in those levels, but why use one when rotary engines push enough air for a straight T4. T3/T4 hybrids is not specific there different sizes, standard bearing or ball bearing & trim levels.

Exhaust, well best sound will be based on opinion & not always is the better sound exhaust the better performing system.

Take a minute & look through the FAQ section, lots of good info there.
Okay now questions for you.

1. Do you know anything about the car?
2. Is the car yours or something you are interested in buying?
3. What are your plans for the car?
4. What turbo is currently on the car?
5. Why has the turbo & exhaust manifold upgraded, but nothing else is?
6. Are you aware that power is nothing without the ability to control it?
7. Is the motor in stock form, do you know?
