Hi everyone. New to the forums...I was just hoping someone here could help me, because I had no luck at the supra forums I frequent so I figured I'd go to the source. :D
Anyway...I'm looking into purchasing an FD.
It's a 1993 R1, 5spd, 56k miles. There's 2,500 miles on the new engine/clutch, which was installed by a Mazda dealership (he has receipts), it's Carfax certified with a leather interior. The paint is no longer factory, the car had to be repainted because it was keyed up. Looks clean as hell.
Total after taxes and license fee came to $18.5k.
If I'm going to dump that much on the damn car I'd at least like to know that it'll last more than a week before I have to take it to the mechanic, and from what I've heard FD's are just grenades on wheels. However, I heard something about adding reliability mods and being able to use it as a very reliable daily driver. Is this true? Or am I just dreaming here? I need something that can take about 200 miles a week (average).
Someone please help...
