84 SE radio replacement

Have you replaced the 3 piece Clarion OEM stereo system in an 84 GSL-SE with a unit that will play BOTH tape cassettes and CDs? I'd like to hear from you. I'm looking for one having bass/treble/fader/balance controls on the faceplate front panel instead of buried deep down in a cellphone style menu.
